Hannon planned another race in France for Shouldvebeenaring

After finally securing a well-deserved Group-race victory at Deauville, Shouldvebeenaring, trained by Richard Hannon, will now set his sights on the Prix Maurice de Gheest in France. Despite coming close in the past, the grey horse has always found one or two rivals too strong.

In his latest race, the Group Three Prix de Ris-Orangis, Shouldvebeenaring triumphed over Electric Storm, earning himself a spot at stud at the end of the year. Middleham Park Racing's Tim Palin expressed his delight at the victory, emphasising that the horse had been consistently competitive in previous big races.

Although there was a possibility of running in Ireland, the decision was made to wait for the Prix Maurice de Gheest followed by the Sprint Cup at Haydock. Shouldvebeenaring performs well at both tracks and prefers firm ground conditions.

With retirement looming at the end of the season, there will be a few more opportunities for Shouldvebeenaring to compete at the highest level before moving on to stud duties at the Irish National Stud.
