Haggas analysing alternatives for his Sea Just In Time

William Haggas has not yet confirmed that he will race the thrilling Haras De Bouquetot Fillies’ Trial Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

On the Friday of the Guineas meeting, the daughter of Sea The Stars made an incredibly excellent start under Tom Marquand at Newmarket. Her connections are now eager to assess her capabilities at a higher level before potential Classic assignments become apparent.

It was believed that the gifted three-year-old was scheduled for Listed action this weekend in the final race of the Lockinge day bill, as he had not been declared for the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York.

Haggas said that he has not yet made up his mind regarding the filly's participation and that if the handler from Somerville Lodge decides to give his filly more time before going out again, he still has the option to enter the William Hill Height of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood on May 25.

“She will run at Newbury or Goodwood, I just need to see if she needs another week, but we will see,” said Haggas. “The trouble is I have no chance of running her in the Oaks if she doesn’t run on Saturday, so I have a decision to make which direction we go if she’s good enough. She was very impressive in her maiden and I think it is likely she will run at Newbury on Saturday, but we will see.”

While Sea Just In Time does not currently have an entry in the Betfred Oaks at Epsom on May 31, connections do have the opportunity to supplement during the confirmation stage, which is on May 25 and costs £30,000.
