Greenfinch won the Irish Stallion Farms

Greenfinch dominated her competitors to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cairn Rouge Stakes at Killarney. Jockey Wayne Lordan secured a double for trainer Aidan O'Brien as he took the Justify filly to the front at odds of 3/1. 

Greenfinch made her move with a furlong-and-a-half to go and pulled away in the final stages, defeating Sakti by two-and-a-quarter lengths. She had previously finished third in the Naas Oaks Trial.

Chris Armstrong of Ballydoyle praised Wayne's ride, noting that the filly enjoyed being at the front and handled the race with ease. Greenfinch is expected to step up in grade and could target races like the Fairy Bridge at Group 3 level. With her versatility over distances and ground conditions, she has plenty of options for future races. The victory also earned her valuable black type, with the third-placed filly Flight Of Fancy also benefiting from the race.
