Gordon Elliott claimed the important 200th Irish National Hunt winner

Gordon Elliott announced Touch Me Not, who placed first in the opening maiden hurdle at Tramore, as the historic 200th winner of the current Irish National Hunt season.

On his 25th birthday, Jack Kennedy guided, encouraging him to 120 victories for the season, comfortably leading the Irish jockeys' title race by about six points over the current champion, Paul Townend.

The only horse able to keep up with Touch Me Not, the front-runner, was the 5/6 favourite Al Gasparo, but he was driven into the penultimate flight by Keith Donoghue.

Between the last two hurdles, Kennedy got the better of Touch Me Not, and the Malinas gelding answered by winning by four lengths at 2/1. At 66/1, Sloan Square trailed Al Gasparo by 20 lengths in third place.

Kennedy said: "The track suited him. I had probably been riding him wrong, trying to get him settled, but I just let him gallop today and it seemed to suit him. "It was nice for him to get the win today and hopefully he can progress from this."
