Gentlemansgame stays on course for a highly anticipated encounter in the prestigious Gold Cup
Mouse Morris is excited about the upcoming challenge at the Cheltenham racecourse with Gentlemansgame, the victor of the Charlie Hall race.
Gentlemansgame, after recovering from a setback that prevented his participation in the Savills Chase during Christmas, is now on track for the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup.
This season, Morris's grey horse has only made two appearances. First, at Gowran, where the trip proved to be inadequate, and then at Wetherby, where he triumphed over Bravemansgame, the winner of last year's King George race.
Morris initially had plans for Galopin Des Champs at Leopardstown, but a stone bruise forced a change of plans. The decision was made to keep Gentlemansgame fresh for Cheltenham instead of participating in the Irish Gold Cup.
Morris, whose last win at the Festival was in 2011 with First Lieutenant, has a Gold Cup victory to his name with War Of Attrition in 2006. Despite the setback during Christmas, Morris is optimistic about Gentlemansgame's chances at Cheltenham.
