Francisco's Piece shall visit Royal Ascot
Adrian Keatley's talented two-year-old, Francisco's Piece, will aim for the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot following a strong performance in France. After winning on debut at Pontefract and narrowly losing at York, the colt impressed in the Prix la Fleche at Chantilly, securing a comfortable victory to secure his spot at the prestigious event.
Before Royal Ascot, Francisco's Piece will be offered for sale at the Goffs London Sale on June 17. Keatley expressed his excitement for the upcoming race, confident that his horse would be a big contender. Shadow Army, who narrowly defeated Francisco's Piece at York, has since been purchased by Wathnan Racing and will target the Coventry Stakes.
Meanwhile, Ballymount Boy, another horse owned by Wathnan Racing and trained by Keatley, faced a setback in his season debut at the Greenham but is now aiming for a Group Three race in Newcastle with hopes of progressing to Goodwood. Despite the setback, Keatley remains optimistic about Ballymount Boy's future performances.
