Following his recuperation at the veterinary facility, Constitution Hill is made to return to the stables

After receiving treatment at a veterinary hospital for what is believed to be a case of colic, Constitution Hill has been brought back to the stables owned by trainer Nicky Henderson through Seven Barrows.

It has been decided that the hurdler who won the championship in 2023 will not be competing in any additional races through the current season.

With only one race under his belt this year, the seven-year-old horse is expected to make a comeback in the prestigious Fighting Fifth Hurdle, which will take place in Newcastle in November. There are high expectations for him to do so.

Henderson expressed his happiness on X, an external platform that was formerly known as Twitter. "Having him back home is truly a joy after all that he has gone through," Henderson said.

Constitutional Hill was not present at the Cheltenham Festival this month, so it was unable to successfully defend its title as Champion Hurdle. State Man emerged victorious in the race despite his not particularly impressive training session.

"It's important to acknowledge that he will require a period of recuperation and regain some of the lost weight," said Henderson in his statement.

"Hence, our highly awaited encounter with State Man will be postponed until the following season."

During this season, the remarkable seven-time Grade One champion competed in only one race, the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton, which was held on December 26. Thanks to jockey Nico de Boinville's presence, they were able to secure a victory with relative ease.
