Fallon Excited for Australian Adventure with LF in Golden Eagle

Cieren Fallon is set to compete in one of Australia's most prestigious races after securing the ride on Lake Forest in the AUS$10 million Golden Eagle at Rosehill on November 2. Owned by Brighton & Hove Albion chairman Tony Bloom, in partnership with Ian McAleavy, Lake Forest is trained by William Haggas, a familiar name in the Southern Hemisphere racing scene.

Lake Forest, a son of No Nay Never, has shown strong form throughout his career. As a two-year-old, he won the Gimcrack Stakes, and this season he has come close in two notable races. He finished second in both the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot behind Inisherin and in Newbury’s Hackwood Stakes behind Elite Status.

The seven-and-a-half-furlong Golden Eagle will test Lake Forest’s stamina, but Fallon is optimistic about their chances, recognizing that good fortune and a favourable draw will be key to success. Fallon noted, "We’ll need a lot of luck and a good draw. It’s a big race with a lot of money on the line, and I hope he acclimates well."

This race presents an excellent opportunity for Fallon, who is eager to end his year on a high note after winning the Haydock Sprint Cup with Montassib. Reflecting on the ups and downs of his season, Fallon added, "Racing is a roller-coaster, but this is a great chance. Hopefully, everything falls into place on the day."
