The Grand National entries for the highly anticipated 2024 race, set to unfold at Aintree Racecourse on 13 April, have just been unveiled, generating tremendous excitement.
Among the impressive roster of 94 entries, one name stands out: Corach Rambler, the triumphant champion of the 2023 Grand National. This exceptional equine talent boasts the training prowess of Lucinda Russell and is proudly owned by The Ramblers.
Not to be outdone, another notable contender vying for glory is Noble Yeats, the 2022 champion who displayed remarkable prowess last year, finishing fourth. Additionally, Vanillier, the valiant runner-up from twelve months ago, will once again grace the hallowed grounds of Aintree.
The renowned Irish trainer, Gordon Elliott, has left an indelible mark on the Grand National with an astounding entry of 26 horses, surpassing his record of 22 set in 2019. Elliott, a master of his craft, has claimed victory in the race on three occasions, with the illustrious names of Silver Birch and Tiger Roll etched in the annals of Grand National history.
In a departure from tradition, the number of horses accepted to participate in the Grand National has been prudently reduced from 40 to 34 for the 2024 edition. As anticipation reaches a crescendo, the final list of runners will be unveiled a mere 48 hours before the race. Notably, the starting time has been revised to 4pm, a departure from the familiar 5.15pm off time that had been in place since 2016.
