Emily Upjohn is ready for Cairn Pretty Polly Stakes
John Gosden-trained dual Group 1 winner Emily Upjohn is gearing up to compete in Saturday's Cairn Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh following a recent run in the Coronation Cup at Epsom. The five-year-old mare, winner of the 2022 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes race and the 2023 Coronation Cup, was well held in her last race, but Gosden is optimistic about her performance at the upcoming event.
Gosden mentioned that they had trained Emily Upjohn in the winter for Dubai, but she struggled to get back into form afterwards. However, after a recent successful workout on the July course, he believes she is ready for the Pretty Polly Stakes. The mare had been the favourite in the ante-post markets for the race, with odds of 7/4 with Paddy Power.
