Ellen Kelly, a five-year-old mare trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by his son Patrick Mullins, improved on her second-place finish last month to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Bumper at Sligo.
Owned by Syndicates Racing, she easily defeated Wild Mandate by 12 lengths in the home straight.
Patrick Mullins commented on the mare's improvement since her debut at Downpatrick, stating that she settled well into the race and enjoyed the nice ground.
Despite a minor mishap with a banged head before the race, Ellen Kelly showed great potential and is expected to continue improving in future races. The Mullins team is excited about her future performances.
