First-time Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes contender Porta Fortuna, winner of the Royal Ascot, looks to continue her successful start to the summer season at Newmarket on Friday by taking on more experienced rivals.
Her connections hope for dry conditions to bring out the best in her. Trainer Donnacha O’Brien is pleased with her form since Ascot and plans to give her a break after this race before aiming for the Breeders’ Cup later in the year. Also in the mix are Running Lion, who impressed at Royal Ascot, and Rogue Millennium, looking to bounce back from recent defeats.
Irish trainers Adrian Murray and Paddy Twomey also have contenders in the race. Jabaara, trained by Roger Varian, is seeking a hat-trick, while Sirona, trained by David Menuisier, completes the lineup. The field is set for an exciting Falmouth Stakes showdown at Newmarket.
