David Menuisier is Optimistic that Migration Can Recapture His Former Brilliance as he Seeks to Secure Consecutive Victories in Lincoln

The experienced gelding displayed an impressive performance last year, triumphing at 18-1 on Town Moor. He surged past the highly-regarded duo Awaal and Baradar, showcasing a strong finish along the stands' rail.

However, Migration struggled to replicate this form in subsequent races, finishing well behind in three challenging competitions. These included the Brigadier Gerard at Sandown, where he faced Group Three competition, the Balmoral Handicap at Ascot while carrying over 10st, and a Listed contest at Saint-Cloud to conclude his season.

Fortunately, the handicapper has given Migration a lifeline by reducing his rating to only 4lb above his victorious Lincoln performance last year. Menuisier remains hopeful that the eight-year-old still possesses the same fiery spirit that propelled him to success.

“Obviously, it’s a hard task but he is well, we know he likes the course and he likes to run fresh and he always runs well at this time of the year, so fingers crossed that the stars can align again,” said the trainer.
