Daryl Jacob is still recovering from a fractured collarbone, therefore he won't be playing again by the end of the jumps season.
One of the most seasoned jockeys in the weighing room suffered an injury when he and Henry Daly's Moon Hunter fell in late March.
Since then, he has been forced to watch from the sidelines while horses ridden by retained riders Simon Munir and Isaac Souede have triumphed.
Jacob won't be able to get back in the saddle before the season ends because of that absence, which is going to continue a little longer than originally anticipated.
He told sportinglife.com: “Because of the nature of the break, and where it is, I need to go back (to the specialist) again in three weeks. The injury is healing but is going to take a little longer than I originally hoped. It’s frustrating but I’m going to give it all the time it needs and will be raring to go once I’ve been given the green light.”
