Dancing Jeremy Triumphs in Opening Handicap Chase at Thurles

In a decisive performance at Thurles, Dancing Jeremy claimed victory in the opening handicap chase under the guidance of James Fahey and jockey Donagh Meyler.

The nine-year-old gelding tactically held third position as Mount Frisco and Sunnyvilla led the charge, gradually advancing after clearing the penultimate jump. As Daniel King urged Mount Frisco onwards, Dancing Jeremy accelerated to overtake, seizing the lead before the final obstacle.

With a burst of speed, Dancing Jeremy maintained momentum over the extended two-mile distance, crossing the finish line with a commanding lead of eight and a half lengths at odds of 9/2. Mount Frisco (11/2) secured the second-place spot, with Hgranca De Thaix trailing by a length and a quarter, after being backed from 9s to 13/2.

Reflecting on the race, Fahey commented,

"He is eligible for the Full Circle Series Final at the Punchestown festival, and I prefer not to revert to hurdles before then. Despite the risk of running him over two miles, the pace of the race suited him, and his proficient jumping skills saw him through. Our focus now is to select his next race with the ultimate goal being the Punchestown event."

This race marked a distance reduction for Dancing Jeremy, adding to his tally of two wins over fences alongside multiple successes over hurdles.
