Dancing Gemini`s next performance shall be at Eclipse

Roger Teal has set his sights on the Coral Eclipse for Dancing Gemini, who put in a commendable effort to finish sixth in the Derby over the weekend. Despite an impressive runner-up performance in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (French 2000 Guineas) earlier this season, the colt faced the challenge of a half-mile increase in distance at Epsom.

Drawn in stall 15, jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle found himself at the rear of the pack initially but steadily manoeuvred into contention as the race progressed. However, despite making significant headway into the final furlong, Dancing Gemini ultimately faltered in the last 100 yards, trailing behind the dominant victor, City Of Troy.

Teal commented, "He seems fine, everything is in order with him." Reflecting on the race, Teal noted, "He made up a lot of ground, but unfortunately, we found ourselves in an unfavourable position on the track. He had to exert considerable effort to secure a favourable position, which ultimately led to his weakening in the closing stages." Teal highlighted the challenges faced due to the congestion around Tattenham Corner, which forced Dancing Gemini to take a wider route than desired.

Looking towards the future, Teal said: “Timing-wise I think the Eclipse looks the favourable race to go for.”
