Cusack's Will It Be You`s triumph
Will It Be You (12/1) won the first division of the FBD Handicap Hurdle after he stood up in the last steps to give brave veteran Father Jed a headshake.
After finishing second at Wexford in the previous summer, Richie Deegan's mount was recovering from a couple of poor races to make the breakthrough in his twelfth appearance.
Liam Cusack, who trains John T. Murray's seven-year-old, expressed his joy with the little athlete, saying, "I'm delighted with him, Richie gave him a lovely ride and he battled well. He seemed to love the ground which is in great nick. It's his first run of the year and you're never quite sure, I felt he might just improve for it but he was in a great frame of mind. This has been a while coming but mentally he was quite immature and it has taken a while for the penny to drop. He'll keep going for the summer now and hopefully, he might be able to follow up on this."
