Cox is sure that the July Cup is the right race for Jasour
Clive Cox is optimistic for a dry end to the week as Jasour prepares for the My Pension Expert July Cup at Newmarket on Saturday. The grey horse has had a successful season so far, winning the Group Three Commonwealth Cup Trial at Ascot in May. Jasour then finished third in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, with jockey Jim Crowley aboard.
The going at Newmarket was soft as of Wednesday, but there is hope for drier conditions closer to the race. Cox is hopeful that the rain will stop and the track will dry up before the weekend. He believes that Jasour's previous success at Newmarket, particularly in the July Stakes last year, will bode well for Saturday's race.
With his promising performances this season, Cox is confident that the July Cup is the right race for Jasour. He is looking forward to seeing how the horse performs and is keeping his fingers crossed for favourable conditions on race day.
