Cox is sure that Jasour has not shown yet his best
Clive Cox is keeping his options open with Jasour after his run in the July Cup at Newmarket. The Havana Grey colt, winner of the Commonwealth Cup Trial at Ascot on his three-year-old debut, placed third in the Commonwealth Cup before taking on older horses for the first time.
Despite finishing sixth in the July Stakes, Cox believes there is still room for improvement in Jasour's performance and aims to secure a Group One win in the future. He was pleased with Jasour's brave effort in the competitive sprint race and will give him some time before deciding on his next race.
Although ruling out a trip to France in August, Cox is considering options in Britain and Ireland for Jasour. He mentioned the Sprint Cup at Haydock, Ascot on Champions Day in October, and the Flying Five in Ireland as potential races for Jasour.
In addition to Jasour's performance, Cox celebrated a win at the July Festival with Magic Mild, who opened her account in impressive style. After a disappointing run in Listed class at York, Magic Mild bounced back at Newmarket, and Cox is considering entering her in the Princess Margaret stakes race at Ascot depending on her well-being.
Overall, Cox is pleased with the form of both his horses and remains optimistic about their future performances.
