Cosmic Year Eyes Newbury's Horris Hill Stakes for Next Step

The promising Cosmic Year is being considered for the BetVictor Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury later this month, as connections aim to give him more experience before the season ends.

Harry Charlton's colt, a son of Kingman, impressed on his debut at Sandown last month, storming to a six-and-a-half-length victory and earning early quotes for next year’s Classics.

Having shown potential at home, the team behind Cosmic Year is eager to give the talented juvenile another outing to further his development. While autumn ground conditions could be a concern, the Group Three Horris Hill Stakes on October 26 is being considered as a step-up in class.

Barry Mahon, European racing manager for owners Juddmonte, said: "He was very impressive on debut, and Harry has been excited about him for a while. We’d like to run him again this year, and we’ll consider the Horris Hill if the ground isn’t too heavy."
