Corach Rambler, the winner of last year's Grand National, is still on track for a second attempt at the prestigious Liverpool race after an impressive third-place finish in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham.
Under the guidance of trainer Lucinda Russell, Corach Rambler was expertly ridden by jockey Derek Fox, who kept the gelding positioned towards the back of the pack. As the race progressed and approached its conclusion, Corach Rambler found his stride and made a strong push up the Cheltenham hill, ultimately securing third place behind Galopin Des Champs. This performance has led to a significant drop in odds from some bookmakers, indicating the horse's readiness for the upcoming Grand National.
Last year, Corach Rambler triumphed in the Ultima Handicap Chase on his way to claiming victory in the National. It is hoped that he can replicate this success once again.
"I was absolutely delighted with him and I think he's quite pleased with himself, all roads lead to Aintree now," said Russell."I'm immensely proud of him and everyone who has gotten him there, he's just a remarkable horse.”
