Connections are sending Kitty Rose to Royal Ascot

Australian trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Junior have set their sights on Royal Ascot glory for recruit Kitty Rose before bringing her back to Australia. The filly had a successful juvenile campaign under trainer Natalia Lupini in County Down, winning races at Naas and Leopardstown and finishing second in the Group Three competition at the Curragh.

Although still under Lupini's care, Kitty Rose was recently purchased by Australian owners. Price and Kent Jnr will make their Royal Ascot debut with her in the Sandringham Stakes, with Oisin Murphy booked to ride. Kent Jnr explained that their goal was always to win a race at Ascot and felt confident in Murphy's abilities to give them a good chance in the race.

Looking ahead, Kent Jnr mentioned that Kitty Rose's ultimate target in Australia will be the Golden Eagle in the spring, as she has shown a mix of speed and stamina that makes her competitive in such races. Murphy will have a chance to familiarise himself with Kitty Rose's form during a training session at Newmarket before the big race at Royal Ascot.
