Connections are increasing the distance for California Dreamer

California Dreamer will step up in distance for her next outing in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh next month, aiming to secure her first win.

Adrian Murray's filly has yet to win but has been consistently competitive, finishing outside the top three only once in five starts. Owned by Amo Racing and Giselle De Aguiar, the daughter of Mehmas has placed in both the Airlie Stud Stakes and the Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh.

She will move up to seven furlongs for the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes on September 15, having recently enjoyed a rest following a solid performance behind Ger Lyons' Phoenix Stakes winner Babouche. Connections are eager for the extra distance, hoping to improve on their third-place finish in the race last year with Ornellaia.

Murray stated, “She’s on a break to freshen up for the Moyglare. We’re stepping her up to seven furlongs, which we believe will suit her better. She’s been running well and just missing out, but we think the longer trip will enhance her performance.”
