Arabian Crown, a thrilling Derby contender, is set to make his much-awaited return on Friday at Sandown in the bet365 Classic Trial (3.35) against eight opponents.
The three-year-old, owned by Godolphin, had a strong juvenile campaign, winning three of his four starts, including the Zetland Stakes at Newmarket by an impressive five and a half lengths. He is normally 12-1 for the June Classic at Epsom, sponsored by Betfred, but he can be as short as 8-1 with William Hill.
He'll return for trainer Charlie Appleby in the 1m2f Group 3, where he's a strong favourite, under regular rider William Buick. Portland will be representing Aidan O'Brien, while his opponents include Macduff, who was last seen placing fourth in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes.
The bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes (2.25), which features the King and Queen's Royal Ascot winner Desert Hero, is another exciting race on Sandown's stellar card. On his comeback, he will face six opponents.
After winning the Group 3 Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last year and placing third in the St Leger, the four-year-old, trained by William Haggas, is making his first start since being gelded during the winter.
Along with Flying Honours, who hasn't been seen since finishing second in the Dante Stakes last year, and Israr, a Group 2 winner for John and Thady Gosden last season, are also included in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes fourth Checkandchallenge.
Lord North, the multiple Group 1 winner, leads a field of seven in the bet365 Mile (3.00), his first return to a mile since 2019.
Charyn, the winner of the Doncaster Mile, and Flight Plan, last year's Irish Champions Weekend winner of a Group 2 at Leopardstown, have also been declared.
