Coleman achieved a victory with Annie Edson Taylor in Blackmore

Kevin Coleman achieved a notable win at Bath on Sunday with Annie Edson Taylor in the Blackmore Building Contractors Restricted Maiden Stakes.

The Mayson filly, purchased for £20,000 as a yearling, had previously secured two minor placings as a juvenile and finished third in her return at Cork in May. After a disappointing second-place finish on heavy ground at Ffos Las, she was expected to shine at Bath.

Dropping to five furlongs for the first time, the three-year-old was the well-supported 4/9 favourite (from 4/5) under Rob Hornby. Settling in second, she was moved to the outside with just under two furlongs remaining.

She made her move at the furlong pole, challenging the leader All Ways Glamourous (3/1). In a close finish, she edged out the rival by a neck.

As a Great British Bonus race, the victory also earned an additional £10,000 for being a filly bred in the UK.
