Choice opens an account in style

This afternoon at Gowran Park, Victor's Choice made history by defeating Adrian Murray in the Thomastown Handicap.

On Madame Plaintiff's last visit to the course, fifteen days ago, she had chased home, and now she firmly opened her account.

The daughter of The Last Lion was led by Wayne Hassett over a furlong from home, and in the last moments, the 9/4 favourite accelerated to win by five and a half lengths over I Bid You Ajou.

“She did it well. Last time out here she loved it and came second,” said Hassett. “Robson (Aguiar) said to do the same thing as last time and she won easily. She didn't do much when she hit the front and was saving plenty for herself. She loved that ground. I was a bit worried to be honest as it was very tacky but she did it well to be fair to her.”
