Chazzesmee May Be Headed to Doncaster Following a Victory In The Irish Lincolnshire
Fozzy Stack's Chazzesmee proved why he was the favourite to win the Nua Healthcare Irish Lincolnshire at the Curragh. The six-year-old horse finished second over the same course and distance back in July. He also has experience running on heavy ground, as demonstrated by a previous victory at Naas.
Despite having only nine runs due to a previous injury, Chazzesmee made a successful comeback after a 260-day break. Under jockey Joey Sheridan, he stayed towards the back of the field and started to make progress in the final two furlongs. In the last half furlong, he joined the frontrunners and ultimately won by a length.
If Chazzesmee recovers well from this race, he may go on to compete in the Lincoln at Doncaster on Saturday. As a result of his impressive performance, his odds have been cut from 20-1 to 10-1 by Paddy Power.
Stack said: “He did it well off a lay-off. We’ll see how he is during the week and he’s in the English Lincoln on Saturday. A 5lb penalty would get him into it. He’s never been short of ability, and we ironed out a few kinks in him.”
