Capulet, the winner of the Dee Stakes, has been acquired by Peter Lau to race in Hong Kong. Lau, who has seen great success with previous Irish import Romantic Warrior, will now see Capulet don his colours on the racetrack.
Capulet, trained by Aidan O'Brien, impressed many with his victory over Bracken’s Laugh in a Listed-class race at Chester last month. While there were hopes of a potential French or Epsom Derby campaign for Capulet, O'Brien revealed that there was significant interest from Hong Kong for the son of Justify.
With the blessing of his Coolmore owners, Capulet will now move overseas to compete under Lau's ownership. Avenue Bloodstock agent Mark McStay played a key role in finalising the transfer and expressed optimism about Capulet's future in Hong Kong.
Romantic Warrior, an Acclamation gelding, has been a standout performer for Lau and trainer Danny Shum in Hong Kong, Australia, and Japan. With eight Group One victories and over £15 million in prize money, Romantic Warrior has been a lucrative investment for Lau and is hoped to bring similar success for Capulet in his new home.
