Buick was delighted with his teammate's performance

William Buick had a successful first visit to Carlisle, securing a double with Bountiful winning the Tattersalls £40,000 EBF Novice Stakes in impressive fashion. Trained by George Boughey, Bountiful, a recent winner at Thirsk defeated a field of colts with ease. Buick also rode Red Pixie to victory in the Great Community Raceday Saturday 6th July Fillies’ Handicap.

Meanwhile, James Doyle enjoyed his first Carlisle win in over a decade with Jabaara triumphing in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Eternal Stakes. Trained by Roger Varian, Jabaara held off the competition to claim victory.

Orbaan, trained by David O’Meara, won the historic Stablemate By AGMA Carlisle Bell, with Danny Tudhope in the saddle. Sadly, the day was marred by the tragic loss of Star Shield in an earlier race, won by Tim Easterby’s Barley.

Sea The Thunder, trained by Ralph Beckett, was successful in the Cumberland Plate, with Hector Crouch riding to victory. Two Shoes, a newcomer trained by Julie Camacho, won the opening Alan Jennings Last Orders Memorial Restricted Maiden Stakes.

Overall, it was a day of exciting racing and victories for the jockeys and trainers at Carlisle.
