Course expertise is believed to be Broadway Boy's primary strength as connections have opted to enter him in the highly competitive Brown Advisory Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
The favourite for the Grade One event is Fact To File, a standout winner at the Dublin Racing Festival under the tutelage of Willie Mullins. The race is also expected to feature previous Festival champion Stay Away Fay and promising Irish novice Montys Star.
Nevertheless, the Broadway Boy team is confident that their exceptional stayer has the ability to make an impact in a race that trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies has conquered twice before. Sam Twiston-Davies, the accomplished jockey who triumphed in the same race last year aboard The Real Whacker, is set to ride Broadway Boy.
"Willy Twiston-Davies, who assists his father in training the six-year-old owned by David Proos, confirmed:
"He will be aiming for the Brown Advisory. The owner and I discussed our thoughts, and he was keen on having Sam as the jockey, which we both agreed upon. With previous winners like Blaklion and Young Hustler, and Sam's victory last year, we are hopeful for success once again."
Despite facing tough competition, the Twiston-Davies team is undaunted by challenges. Broadway Boy has showcased his affinity for Prestbury Park by securing victories in three out of four appearances at the track. His only loss was against Flooring Porter early in his chasing career, but he has since defeated top-quality opponents, including Threeunderthrufive and Protektorat.
Twiston-Davies expressed confidence in Broadway Boy's abilities, stating,
"We have faith in our horse. While the Brown Advisory is a competitive field and Fact To File appears strong, Broadway Boy has excelled at Cheltenham, showing tenacity and class. We are optimistic about his performance."
He further added,
"His remarkable form at the December Cheltenham meeting stands out, surpassing many novice competitors. We are eagerly anticipating his run, given his love for the course and current good form."
