Brewin'upastorm took on Irish rivals Zarak The Brave
Brewin'upastorm showcased a remarkable performance, taking trainer Olly Murphy by surprise with a memorable Grade Two victory in the Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Now at the age of 11, Brewin'upastorm has competed against top competitors throughout his extensive career with the trainer, achieving success in various types of races, including bumpers, hurdles, and chases.
In 2019, he achieved a respectable placement as a novice hurdler at Aintree. After that, he transitioned to fences and managed to secure two victories. However, he unfortunately unseated his rider in the 2020 Arkle and finished last in the Tingle Creek the following season.
Murphy has focused on hurdles since then, winning the National Spirit at Fontwell twice. This recent journey to Ireland was a new experience for him.
Teamed up with Jack Kennedy, Brewin'upastorm found himself in a small field of only four runners. With Maxxum falling and Thedevilscoachman failing to impress, the real competition came down to a head-to-head battle with Willie Mullins' 5-6 favourite, Zarak The Brave, starting from the second-to-last hurdle.
