Blue Storm shall visit the City Walls Stakes at York
Gemma Tutty is aiming Blue Storm at a Listed race after a strong performance at Royal Ascot. The Blue Point colt won the 3YO Dash at Epsom on Derby day before finishing second in the Palace of Holyrood House Stakes at Ascot. Despite being a long shot, he ran well under jockey Hollie Doyle.
Next up for Blue Storm is the City Walls Stakes at York, a step up from the handicap company. If successful, he could then target a Group Two race at Goodwood in August. Tutty was pleased with his performance at Ascot and is confident in his abilities on fast ground.
“I think we’re going to go to the City Walls Stakes, a five-furlong Listed race at York next weekend,” the trainer said. “He proved himself to be very versatile at Ascot, and it was his first time on that fast ground as well. He’s ticked every box now, he’s turned out to be a lot more versatile than we first thought. He’s rated 98 now, so he’s there or thereabouts with his mark, he’s come out of the race really well. He’s got a provisional entry in the Group Two at Goodwood, the King George, so we’ll see how he gets on at Listed level and that will decide which way we’re going to go with him afterwards.”
