Henry Dwyer is confident that Asfoora will be in top form as she represents Australia in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot. Antipodean horses have had success at the prestigious meeting in recent years, with Chris Waller's Nature Strip being the most recent winner. Despite a disappointing performance from Coolangatta last year, Asfoora is high in the bookmakers' lists after a promising fourth-place finish in the Temple Stakes at Haydock.
Dwyer, who trains Asfoora at Amy Murphy's Southgate Stables in Newmarket, was pleased with her run at Haydock but believes she will be even better prepared for Royal Ascot. He expects a sharper and fitter mare to line up against familiar rivals from the previous race.
Looking ahead to the future, Dwyer also has plans for Asfoora to compete at tracks like Goodwood and York later in the season. He believes the flatter tracks will suit her style of racing and is optimistic about her chances in upcoming races after Royal Ascot.
