Ed Crisford is considering supplementing Arabian Dusk for the Prix Morny at Deauville next weekend.
Crisford, who trains the filly with his father Simon, mentioned that another option is the Lowther Stakes at York. Arabian Dusk gained attention with her victory in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket’s July meeting. Since the Duchess of Cambridge is a Group Two race, she would carry a penalty if running at York.
In contrast, the Prix Morny is a Group One race, where she would receive weight from most of her rivals, and the cost to supplement her would be €25,200.
Crisford mentioned on Sky Sports Racing that they are considering the Prix Morny for her next week after entering her at York. "We’ll assess her this week, but she might be supplemented for the Prix Morny," he said. Her performance in the Duchess of Cambridge suggests she has more to give, and while she could handle seven furlongs, they may keep her at six.
The Crisfords also have unbeaten Quddwah stepping up to Group One in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville this weekend. After two wins at Ascot, he will face a tough challenge. Crisford commented that Quddwah has shown significant improvement this year and still has more to give. Despite idling in front during races, he remains a strong Group One contender with an impressive record.
