Appleby believes the Goodwood will suit Notable Speech's racing style
Charlie Appleby is excited to see Notable Speech return to form in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood after a disappointing performance in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. The 2000 Guineas winner had his first career defeat in that race, but a recent workout showed no issues and Appleby is confident he will bounce back.
After a successful workout on soft ground, Appleby is optimistic about Notable Speech's chances in the upcoming race. He and jockey William Buick thoroughly examined the horse but found no problems, leading them to believe the poor performance at Royal Ascot was just a blip.
Despite the setback, Appleby believes the Goodwood track will suit Notable Speech's travelling style, and he is confident in the horse's abilities. He is eager to put the disappointing race behind them and focus on the future, hoping for a strong showing in the Sussex Stakes.
