Ancient Wisdom came out victorious at Newmarket

Ancient Wisdom redeemed himself after a disappointing Derby run by winning the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket. The Group One-winning two-year-old bounced back from his eighth-place finish at Epsom with a front-running victory in the Group Three race, stepping up in trip but down in grade. Trained by Charlie Appleby and ridden by William Buick, the Dubawi colt held off Royal Supremacy to win by a length and three-quarters.

Appleby was pleased with the horse's performance, noting that the ground and trip suited Ancient Wisdom well. He praised Buick for giving the horse a positive ride and expressed confidence in the horse's future races. The trainer mentioned plans to target the Great Voltigeur and St Leger later in the season.

Paddy Power cut Ancient Wisdom's odds for the St Leger to 10-1, and Appleby remains optimistic about the horse's potential for future success. He believes there is still room for improvement and is looking forward to seeing what Ancient Wisdom can achieve in the coming months.
