Alfa Kellenic secured a fifth consecutive win

Alfa Kellenic delivered a standout performance for Yorkshire trainer Craig Lidster, securing a fifth consecutive win in the British EBF Fillies’ Handicap at York. The 17-2 shot, ridden by Tom Eaves, held on gamely to win by a short head, marking Lidster’s biggest success to date. Lidster praised the filly’s toughness and versatility and is considering future plans, including the Ayr Gold Cup.

In other races, Thunder Run led from start to finish in the £150,000 Clipper Handicap, winning at 6-1 under David Egan for trainer Karl Burke. Despite not initially planning to lead, Egan’s decision proved successful, and Burke sees potential for the horse in future races.

Angel Hunter, trained by Richard Hannon, narrowly won the Autism Awareness EBF Stallions Nursery Handicap. The colt, who had previously not finished higher than third, fought off Age Of Gold to win by a neck, with Qaseem in third. Hannon noted the colt’s improvement and his potential for next year.
