Advice from Daryl Carter: River seems to be a decent wager at Pontefract's lower grade
Glorious Angel, a filly who has proven her mettle in a recent race at Doncaster against formidable competition, is poised for another impressive performance. With favourable conditions and a skilled jockey, her chances are promising. However, the wide draw could pose a challenge.
While Glorious Angel's performances at Pontefract have been over six furlongs, a distance that doesn't fully showcase her abilities, her adaptability shines through. Her record at five furlongs, particularly on soft ground, is a testament to her versatility and potential for success.
She displayed early solid speed in her first turf race since finishing second to Aberama Gold in a Class 2 contest over 5f at Doncaster in October. Wen Moon pulled well clear of Vintage Clarets in third place, which she had previously finished behind in a race at Catterick over the same distance.
The horse performed impressively in her last race, leading a field over six furlongs. This should prepare her well for the upcoming race at a shorter distance where she has yet to be tested.
She has performed exceptionally well in her last two races at this distance, achieving career-best RPR ratings of 97.
