According to Reynier, Deauville Scorer Lazzat has a Bright Future Ahead of him

Jerome Reynier's Lazzat emerged victorious in the Prix Djebel Group at Deauville, maintaining an impeccable record.

Prior to the competition, the three-year-old had won on three occasions, all of which took place in Cagnes-Sur-Mer this year.

Before the Deauville Group Three, no other horse had come close to matching his performance, with none finishing within three and a half lengths of his impressive lead. In his previous outing, he emerged victorious in the prestigious Prix de la Californie Listed race.

He triumphed over Keran, owned by the Aga Khan, with a comfortable lead of two and a half lengths. Additionally, he outpaced Devil's Point, trained by David Menuisier, by an impressive five lengths. All of this took place in a competitive field of seven contenders.

"The alteration in surroundings featured a straight course spanning seven furlongs, which he found agreeable," Reynierremarked.

Today, he took the lead and departed without any companions. He emerged victorious and displayed superior speed compared to the female horses in the Prix Impudence.

Even though he didn't give it his all, he came back with plenty of energy remaining. He's a strong contender for this year.

According to Reynier, the gelding's next races are either the Prix Paul de Moussac at Longchamp in early June or the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Considering the level of competition in Paris, it might be more convenient to keep him in France and explore the most straightforward approach, given his eligibility for French benefits.

"He's a gelding, so we'll explore our options." We would be thrilled to send him to Goodwood for the Sussex.
