In a heartfelt tribute to the memory of Bernie Kelly, a beloved figure within the racing community, the Vincent Delaney Memorial Committee is proud to introduce the Bernie Kelly International Ladies Charity Race as a new addition to the esteemed Vincent Delaney Memorial Festival weekend. Bernie Kelly, renowned for her unwavering dedication and vibrant spirit, played an integral role as the racing secretary and organizer of the Delaney family's racing endeavours until her untimely passing in 2019 after bravely battling cancer.

The Bernie Kelly International Ladies Charity Race holds a special significance, serving as a beacon of hope and support for those affected by cancer. Proceeds from the race will be directed towards Cancer Trials, an organization committed to broadening access to cancer research trials and extending patient lifespans through innovative treatments.

Reflecting on Bernie's indomitable spirit, VDM Chairman Derek Delaney remarked, "Bernie was a force to be reckoned with, radiating vitality and passion in everything she did. Her presence continues to inspire us, and it is only fitting to honour her legacy in this meaningful way."

A stellar line up of drivers from across the globe is set to grace the track for this inaugural charity race, showcasing the international camaraderie and solidarity that defines the Vincent Delaney Memorial Weekend. Representing Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia, these accomplished drivers will compete not only for victory but also in support of a noble cause.

The Vincent Delaney Memorial Weekend, scheduled for Aug. 10-11, 2024, will mark a historic milestone as it relocates to the prestigious Wolverhampton Racecourse in the United Kingdom. Renowned as one of Britain's premier racing venues, Wolverhampton Racecourse's decision to host the VDM underscores the event's burgeoning stature and the elevated calibre of competition it embodies.
