Valiant Force Is Set To Return To Europe And Focus On Turf Races

After finishing fourth behind the unbeaten Beeline in the six-furlong Hutcheson Stakes, Valiant Force, the runner-up in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, will go back to the grass.

During the Hutcheson, Valiant Force was bumped between horses at the start but managed to recover and position himself within striking distance of the leaders as they turned for home. However, he ultimately struggled and finished four lengths behind the winner in his much-anticipated debut on the main track.

Jorge Delgado, who trains Valiant Force for Amo Racing USA, commented on the race, stating that although the horse came out of it well, he didn't perform to his full potential on the dirt. Delgado mentioned that the break at the start didn't help in a sprint race like this one, with Valiant Force getting bumped between horses. However, Delgado believes that it wasn't a significant enough excuse and recognises that Valiant Force simply isn't as successful on dirt as he is on turf.

Delgado has announced that Valiant Force will be relocated to a grass track in Europe, specifically targeting the prestigious Royal Ascot event. It is worth mentioning that Valiant Force achieved an incredible victory in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes last year as a 2-year-old, defying the odds of 150-1. However, it remains uncertain whether Delgado will personally accompany the horse on this journey or if Valiant Force will be returned to his previous trainer, Adrian Murray.
