Tunbridge Wells is now heading Royal Ascot

Tunbridge Wells showcased his potential for Royal Ascot with an impressive performance at the Curragh. After finishing three lengths behind in his debut at Navan, the son of No Nay Never showed significant improvement as the favourite in the Holden Plant Rentals Irish EBF Race. Leading from the start, he demonstrated professionalism by accelerating when asked by jockey Ryan Moore, ultimately winning by two and three-quarter lengths. With a pedigree similar to Group One winner Blackbeard, he may challenge the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. Aidan O’Brien shared his pride in the young horse, noting his developmental stage and potential for longer distances in the future.

In another race featuring O’Brien-trained horses, Grateful triumphed over stablemate Mother Nature in the Sky Bet Club Fillies Maiden. The victory marked a successful return after nearly ten months of absence for Grateful, who now has an entry in the upcoming Juddmonte Irish Oaks. O’Brien praised the filly's impressive pedigree and Wayne Lordan's skilful ride, anticipating a further improvement in her performances.

Jessica Harrington celebrated Hotazhell's first win at the Curragh Irish EBF race, with the son of Too Darn Hot showing promise for future races. Harrington highlighted the horse's growth and potential over longer distances, expressing her intention to carefully plan his progression. She mentioned the possibility of aiming for the National Stakes, emphasising Hotazhell's strong finish and adaptability to various conditions. Harrington expressed her delight in training such a talented horse, especially as he represents the colours of her first Group One winner, Pathfork.
