Trainer Michael Bell was full of praise for Sariska

Sariska’s victory in the 2009 Irish Oaks was one of the most dominant in the history of horse racing. Following her impressive win at Epsom, where she defeated the talented Midday, Sariska continued her winning streak at the Curragh. Under the skilled guidance of jockey Jamie Spencer, Sariska cruised to a three-length victory, barely breaking a sweat.

Trainer Michael Bell was full of praise for both Sariska and Spencer, noting that she had shown exceptional form leading up to the race. Despite her previous success on firm ground, Sariska excelled on the soft surface at the Curragh, proving that she was a versatile and talented filly.

After her triumph in the Irish Oaks, Sariska looked set to dominate the top races of the season. However, a surprise defeat against Dar Re Mi in the Yorkshire Oaks and subsequent refusal to leave the stalls in later races hinted at her unpredictable nature. Sariska  eventually retired after showing signs of fatigue and a lack of interest in competing.

Despite her early retirement, Sariska's talent was undeniable. Trainer Michael Bell praised her as one of the best fillies he had ever trained, alongside the likes of Red Evie. Sariska's stunning victory in the Irish Oaks will always be remembered as a shining moment in racing history.
