Tim Gredley Eyes Strong Cheltenham Festival Team

Owner-breeder Tim Gredley is brimming with excitement about his growing squad of jumpers, many of whom are set to target the Cheltenham Festival. Following a successful weekend, where Burdett Road captured the Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle and his half-brother East India Dock stormed to victory in the JCB Triumph Trial, Gredley is optimistic about his horses' potential.

Burdett Road’s Triumph and Festival Plans

Burdett Road showcased his grit by making it all under Harry Cobden to land Sunday’s feature race at Cheltenham. Gredley was delighted with the performance, especially as the plan to utilise his summer Flat form paid off.

“He’s a warrior and always gives 110%. It’s great to see him rewarded,” said Gredley.

While his next steps remain undecided, Burdett Road is firmly on track for a Festival campaign.

“The aim is to have as many Festival runners as possible. He’ll definitely line up in something at Cheltenham,” Gredley added.

East India Dock Shines in Juvenile Division

Half-brother East India Dock has emerged as a serious Triumph Hurdle contender after a commanding 18-length success at Cheltenham on Saturday. A son of Golden Horn, his development over obstacles has thrilled connections.

“He’s built for jumping and has progressed beautifully,” noted Gredley. “The Triumph is the target, with one more prep run before then.”

Lavender Hill Mob and Emerging Talent

Gredley’s Lavender Hill Mob, a proven stayer on the Flat, is gearing up for a switch to hurdles after a summer setback. With heavy-ground form and strong stamina credentials, he’s seen as a promising novice.

“He’s filled out well during his break and looks great,” said Gredley. “We’re considering starting him at Sandown to see where he stands.”

Liam Swagger and Ambiente Amigo Add Depth

Juvenile hurdler Liam Swagger, unbeaten in two starts, is likely to aim for the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle.

“He’s built for the job and incredibly tough. We’ll decide on his Cheltenham race closer to the time,” Gredley remarked.

Meanwhile, Ambiente Amigo, an impressive Newcastle debut winner, is another rising star. Gredley jokingly added:

“Don’t forget Ambiente Amigo—she’s the good one!”
