Thursday's Racing at Huntingdon Cancelled Due to Waterlogged Track

Thursday's racing event scheduled to take place at Huntingdon has been called off following the track being deemed unsuitable due to heavy flooding.

The venue was set to hold a six-race National Hunt card, but unfortunately, the conditions of the course are not conducive to racing, with significant areas of standing water and the possibility of further rainfall before the event.

Roderick Duncan, the Clerk of the course, conducted an inspection on Tuesday morning and was left with no choice but to cancel the event.

He stated,

"We experienced flooding once again on Sunday, and although the water levels have decreased, there are still patches of standing water across various sections of the track. Despite the river levels receding, the anticipated rain on Wednesday and Thursday complicates matters".

In light of this cancellation, the British Horseracing Authority has already announced an additional meeting to be held on Thursday at Chelmsford.
