Tabiti is set to compete in shorter distances at Salisbury

Impressive Newmarket winner Tabiti is set to tackle a higher grade and shorter distance in the rescheduled Ire-Incentive, It Pays To Buy Irish Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury on Friday. The race was postponed a week due to heavy rain but is back on with many key contenders, including Tabiti, who had been the favourite last week.

Ralph Beckett’s filly, a daughter of Kingman, will drop back in trip but is in excellent form after her dominant Newmarket debut. Connections are hopeful for good ground conditions, as she sidestepped the Prestige Stakes due to testing conditions at Goodwood.

Barry Mahon of Juddmonte, her owner, commented, "She’s in great shape, and we’re excited to see her run. Although dropping back in distance is a concern, she showed plenty of speed on debut."

Eve Johnson Houghton, who won this race last year with Juniper Berries, will try to repeat the success with Betty Clover, a Marygate Stakes winner who has performed well at Group level since.

William Haggas’ Jewelry and Karl Burke’s Greydreambeliever, both impressive on debut, are stepping up in grade. Cosmo Charlton, racing manager for Hambleton Racing, said, "Greydreambeliever has shown promise and could be a contender for big races if she performs well."

Clive Cox’s Magic Mild, recently in winning form, aims for a hat-trick, while other competitors include Roger Varian’s Miss Fascinator and the King and Queen’s Handcuffed (Andrew Balding) and Santa Savana (Rod Millman).
