The Jukebox Man, owned by Harry Redknapp, has been absent from competitive races since securing the third spot in the esteemed Challow Hurdle at Newbury in late December. Nevertheless, the horse is still included in Ben Pauling's lineup for Prestbury Park.
Pauling, the trainer, states that Jukebox will bypass other races and directly head to Cheltenham. He opines that the horse is more suitable for the Albert Bartlett race as opposed to the Baring Bingham race.
If the Baring Bingham race takes place under extremely heavy ground conditions, the decision to stick to the two-and-a-half-mile distance will likely be made. However, it is believed that Jukebox is better suited for a three-mile race.
During the Challow Hurdle, Jukebox delivered an exceptional performance. Despite challenging conditions, the pace was set at a strong and consistent level.
Given Jukebox's current form and impressive display at home, it was deemed necessary to provide the horse with a proper opportunity to rejuvenate. The trainer expresses confidence that Jukebox is in excellent shape and expects further improvement.
