Ollie Sangster's Shuwari has been ruled out of the Qipco 1000 Guineas after encountering a setback.
The filly, sired by New Bay, showcased her potential by winning at Listed level in only her second outing. She gained valuable experience at Newmarket, finishing second in both the Rockfel Stakes and Fillies' Mile during the autumn.
These performances established her as a strong contender for Classic races, and her trainer was eagerly looking forward to entering her in a prestigious race on the Rowley Mile during the first weekend of May.
Unfortunately, a minor issue has arisen that will require some time to resolve, forcing Shuwari's three-year-old campaign to be put on hold.
“I’m not sure on a timescale, we will just have to see how the rehab goes in the next few weeks and then we will have a better guide on it,” said Sangster.
