George Scott is confident that Seven Questions will thrive with a drop in class when he competes in the Coral Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood on Saturday.
The Kodiac gelding, who won the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on Guineas Day, finished third in the Temple Stakes at Haydock. Following that, he was supplemented for the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot, where he struggled as an 80-1 outsider and finished 10 lengths behind the winner, the Australian raider Asfoora.
Scott believes that returning to the handicap company for this six-furlong contest will better suit the three-year-old.
Scott commented on Seven Questions, noting the tough competition at Ascot on fast ground against Group One horses was too much. However, he believes the upcoming race will be more suitable for him, despite carrying some weight.
Stablemate Rocket Rodney, who has the course-winning experience, also participates. Scott mentioned, “Rodney tries hard and has previously won at Goodwood.”
Griselda, fresh off a hat-trick of wins, will skip Goodwood for a race at Newmarket instead. She’ll run in the British Stallion Studs & Tony Morris EBF Fillies’ Nursery Handicap with a rating of 63. Scott stated that she is in great shape and will benefit from running closer to home.
