Simmering aims to peak later this summer after nearly securing Ollie Sangster's first Royal Ascot win with a close second in the Albany Stakes.
Based at Manton, Sangster showed promise with Inquisitively at Royal Ascot and continued that form.
Despite a debut loss at York, Simmering, by Too Darn Hot, had strong backing at Ascot, finishing second in Group Three.
Trained by Sangster, Simmering impressed with Jamie Spencer in Sangster's colours but was edged out by Aidan O'Brien's Fairy Godmother.
"We're pleased. Jamie liked her from the start. We ran into a talented winner," said Sangster.
Simmering's future looks bright, despite not yet winning.
Next, Sangster eyes York's Lowther Stakes and possibly Newmarket's Duchess of Cambridge Stakes.
Shuwari, Sangster's notable filly, could return in autumn after setbacks earlier this year.
